I'll believe it when I see it. Rumour has it the game has been delayed for Japan release till March '10, which means we probably won't see it till about this time next year.
Maybe they wanted to add another 200 variants of the Skyline or something? Pain in the arse.

There was a TV prog on the other day (probably on Dave so repeated about 10000 times)
about the making of the earlier GT games, does look really cool how they do it!

Being honest, the last GT I properly played was GT2. I lost interest in all the recent ones quite quickly, even Prologue wasn't all that great.
Maybe I shouldn't say this because I'm a bit of a Sony fanboy but Forza 2 was the best racing game I've played for years, it was just so easy to jump into games with your mates, took about 3 button presses. As much as I hated paying for Xbox Live (And also the reason I sold my Elite) they've got a pretty good system going.
But GT now has the Porsche, Lambo and WRC licence. Yipee!

Ive also heard its been delayed till 1st quarter of next year.
Theyve spent alot of time doing the damage modeling and it looks cack as the cars still pinball off the barriers on contact.
They are promising full dynamic weather and day/night cycle which sounds cool, but not that important if the game never comes out!!
its turning into another "duke nukem forever", deadline after dealine missed and by the time it comes out it will be out of date
just glad i got a 360 for forza 3!

The waiting is a pain in the arse but it will be worth it. I agree with the developers no point releasing it if its not finished, its good to see they have the porsche ferrari and lambo licences now, cant really think of many manufacturers they now dont have in the game? Latest interviews all say that the game is complete its just the modelling of the cars they are doing as it takes so long now as the need to do the interiors as well

Shhhh! Don't say that, it'll be delayed another year. After doing a bit of digging online it seems a UK release is to be expected around December next year lol

Yep it was confirmed earlier this week that it will be a world release in March 2010. If only they had focused more on this instead of the crap cut down version for the PSP, just to boost the sales of the PSPgo!

I downloaded the Forza 3 demo the other day on XBL and had a quick go with the R8, have to say it looked and played amazing and that's just the demo. Can't wait.
Think it was about 1.2gb if anyone is bothered.
Do it mate, Forza has replaced GT as the new racing king just as Gran Turismo replaced the Need for speed series (original ones not the reinvented maxpower/fast and furious later ones) and all the others 10 years ago.
Downloaded the demo of FIFA and it looks almost the same as the old one, I know its only the demo but still AND the players still move in chunks not a proper smooth circle like they said. Have to wait and see I guess. Modern Warfare 2 will be great though. Is Dirt any good?

I used to love playing GT, but that was before i realised what a proper simulation is like. After experiencing LFS (not a terribly nice looking game, but the physics are the best on the market for PC sims) and Forza 2, i shall never go back to GT.
The thing with GT, is that it has had some nice features in the past like car wash, photo "drive" etc. etc., and these were nice, but it's just the physics that i can't deal with. The cars almost all feel the same, the sounds are crap (still has that STUPID tyre squeal!) and the car choices are stupid. Why do we need 15 different skylines and 5 different MX5s?? Also the lack of rollover and damage annoys me.
Sure, GT5 will be getting alot of cars, but what people don't realise is that the full list from GT4 is in there, which takes up almost the entire lot, and there wont be many new cars, as ones that are accounted as "new" cars are just the same fucking car but a 1.6 instead of a 1.8.
Overall, i think Polyphony is just trying to screw you guys out all the money you got. Yes, they have worked hard on the graphics, but the car list is very similar to GT4, the cars don't feel much different, they made you PAY for a fucking demo, and then they say that damage will only be on certain cars? WTF? Not to mention the fact that i personally don't see rollover coming to the game like they said, and if it does, i can only imagine it being shit as the cars bounce off walls like my dog on a fucking trampoline.
As much as i sound like a Forza fanboy, i will go out and try GT5 (whenever the fuck it gets realesed ) on my bro's PS3 and try it, but i shall not be keeping my hopes up. It may look pretty and have some lovely looking menus (as if anyone gives a fuck about that) but for me, it's all about the physics and the way the cars handle, which is something Polyphony have successfully been fucking up ever since they started this thing.

Ok, i will admit that GT5 just picks ahead of FM3 in the graphics states (although PS3's have no Anti-Aliasing, which sucks as i hate jaggie edges) but as for gameplay, i can see FM3 taking the cake. Already, FM2's physics are at the top of the pile for console simulators, so FM3 can only get better. Also, FM3's career is completely individual. It picks the events depending on what you prefer, whether that be touge, drift, drag, etc, so once your 2 hours in, your career path will be completely different to anyone elses.
So to clarify, if you want to take pretty screenshots all day and go "ohhh, ahhh" at your tele while fapping, then get GT5.
If you want to actually race a car you've bought, and then take pretty screenshots or make a video of it, then get FM3.

It's totally down to opinion mate. I just prefer Forza for it's physics. It's great bouncing round nurburgring in a RWD focus powered by a 2.5 Mondy V6, and having the car twitching all over the place. You really have to fight with the car to keep it under control, and i love it!
From my experience with all the previous GT's, there no where near close. It's just not a challenge for me to do fast laps in GT.

nfs shift is supposed to be a good game as well!
myself i,m dissapointed as i thought gt5 would be xmas, but cod 4 online always keeps me entertained

it would be a dream come true if they would put some old skool RS cars in there.
but not a chance! as they would much prefer to fill it full of every single variant of jap crap there ever was!
they did however, put an RS200 in, but only the road version,
and an escort cossie rally car, BUT NOT the road version!
WHY WHY WHY.....

Good post mate. What you have to understand is whilst we are all allowed an opinion with there being no 'right' or wrong as such that most people on here just sound off about what they own like like the Iphone or PS3. Myself think Playstation was brilliant and had the original GT a bit before it hit UK stores, sold my PS2 long back but still have the GT3 game in the draw for some reason as I do the original Playstation console.
Agree with your posts about the handling and physics etc. I mean when the first one came out about '98 when I was at school you could go round that short speedway type track that had some corners at full speed, hit all the barriers and carry on going resulting in a win. The game simply has not changed much apart from graphics improvements.
Regarding XBOX well most people know I don't love Microsoft and would love Bill Gates to go bust, see other OS's in schools, workplaces etc more and see a Jap company (where 99% of my consoles have been from) take over again. Yes I know Wii leads sales then XBOX and finally PS3 but the truth though is XBOX 360 is the best for gaming and online in many ways when talking about proper games and not kiddy shit, especially as it costs Ł28 PY. I've never even played on the last XBOX and still not played a Halo yet. and my console has blown once so far too but I bought Forza 2 late, very late put it on for the first time and was struggling to stay on the track. It looked good, had the cars and the career mode, all the trimmings but I was like, "what the fuck is this shit its all over the place", stunned as to why I couldn't go round bouncing off everything an win. Then I woke up and got into it.......
Forza 2 is just more of a challenge with all the nice bits as well and the better you get the more you can turn off. If you hit the gravel then you stop and it hurts you big time, you hit the tyre wall and it fucks you over turning in so you have to try to stay on the track so much more than any of the several GT's I've played and loved in the past.
Who knows though, maybe GT5 they will rip off Forza 2 a bit in the same way the football games do nicking each other's good bits. All I know is that Forza is the new daddy on the block with the snooker balls in the sock and no doubt something else will come along one day and do to it just what it did to Gran Turismo (and Turismo did to others previously).
The misses won't be getting much attention next couple of months with some of the games coming out. Oh well.
