Default Diesel Enq

I've just purchased a Golf GT TDI for my other half, and having always had Petrol cars for many years, she's worried that she might fill it up with Petrol accidently.
Is there anything on the market today that I can buy & fit to the filler neck to prevent her from doing some serious accidental damage??

Cheers

Wayne

Does it not say DIESEL in big letters on the inside of the filler cap?

It is, but I thought there was a device that you could fit which would prevent a Unleaded pump being accepted??

All you can do is put a sticker on the filler cap/flap and maybe one inside the car where it's in view all the time as a reminder, maybe even tape the word diesel on a piece of paper on the clockset so she sees it when looking at fuel gauge.

Great cars these. If its the mk4, you can run it on pretty much anything.

Ours was the 130, supprised a few Gti's. Just sold my wifes mk5 gt tdi, that was seriously quick.

I now have the opposite problem, as my mrs has always had diesel, and now ive gone and got her a pertol turbo .

As stated the diesel hole is bigger, a petrol hole will normally not accept a diesel nosel. Surley who ever came up with this youd think would have made it the opposite way round .

As suggested the little speaker device is probably your safest if your mrs is a bit "care free". Most petrol stations sell them or this on ebay for Ł5

On the golf the fuel flap is only opened buy the button in the drivers door, so maybe put a sticker there aswell??

There is some sort of device out that you can fit in the filler neck i saw one on a van the other day, if you was to try and put a petrol nozzle in it will sit out the neck of the tank so you shoud notice

She's just winding you up, and wants you to fill it up - they're sneaky women...
