1957 Ford E93A
mine was a mk1 cortina 4door in metalflake blue, had a gt dash, 3.0 v6, mk1 capri 3.0 box, lowered, sport rims(if you remember mk2 escorts when they were new, you'll know what rims i am talking about), reg FYM ***C, i bought it with a slaughtered clutch for £100, remember my dad going booloo when i brought it home, he said i would kill myself and how was i going to get insured on it, paid £300 insurance (which was almost a months wages) and proceeded to terrify everyone that got in it(including myself)
I even remember the blokes name who did the conversion ' Guy Imray'
It handled like a bar of soap, but, the birds loved it
It even made the cossie look economical

A rather fetching Champagne Gold, 5 door, Mk3 Escort Ghia.
I added big Ring spot lamps and changed the Ford badges for those horrid green things from Halfords. Couldn't afford alloys so spray painted the hub caps black

First car was a mk2 escort, navy, oay 489w. But never drove it
So i guess my proper first car was a mk3 escort, light blue, 1.6 xr lookalike aut 685y. Cost £600 in '94 and insurance was £740 (i was 17).

The first car I ever bought was a mk2 XR2 in 1993, a rosso red 1988 E plater! Paid £3000 and rememeber it cost me £530 to insure which was a lot of coin 11 years ago!!! Prior to this I used to use my folks cars as was too poor as a student to afford my own car! lol (Pikey student days were the best though for being care free and drunken )

First car was a H plate Black 5 GT Turbo , stupidly I bought it because I thought even though it was Turbod it only had a 1400cc engine and therefore would be too bad on the insurance as a first car .................................... Oh how WRONG I was
Sold it 2 weeks later and bought a Nova GSI

Mk II Feista 1.4 Sport for £500.00 in 1994 - was full of rot and i wrote it off two weeks later by reversing it into a mondeo.
I reshelled it into a mint 'sleeper' 950 bonus shell which i bought for £200 - sold that a few years later for £600 and after 40k miles
