Default as it turns out

1.6 sapphire brakes are fucking crap, i put new (vented) disks and pads on last week and its only a 1.6 pinto and to be honest the rings are gone and it uses more oil than petrol and keeps on going when you turn it off

i took it for a "spireted" drive downhill on the b-road next to my house and after literally four corners the brakes faded so much that i had to slow right down to try not to buckle the disks

i need bigger brakes

what has the biggest 4x108 disks that fit over the wheel studs, when i find some big disks i can find some good calipers and make some brackets to fit them

im assumin its 2wd.
xr4i, 260mm disc, caliper and dics used will be like Ł100 and bolt streight on
2wd cosworth , 283mm discs. calipers and discs be like Ł200 and bolt streight on.

im using the 283mm cossy brakes and i can slam it down from 150mph to like 40mph and they dont fade much. i got drilled and vented dics and ram air coolers mind, but can definatly recomend them

yeah they've been on about a week or so

its got 16" wheels on, how big generally fit under 16's?

a brake fluid change and some new flexis would proberbly be a good idea but i just want some bigger ones

is there anything even non ford that has good calipers on it, ideally something that would be in the scrap yard, that i can then make fit on a decent sized ford disk,

Easiest route would be 2wd cossie stuff, the hole in the hub just needs tapping to take a bolt, it is already the correct size hole for tapping, so that helps, think it's a 12mm tap run through there.
The just cossie 2wd discs pads calipers.
I did this to my old d reg 2.1 auto sierra, the difference was massive, a world away, and I had 260mm disc to start with with std single piston sliding calipers, so the step up from yours would be even greater.
