Default mk5 escort lambda sensor

hi all just had mot and car needs a new lambda sensor.On the car its got 4 wires but i've got a brand new universal one with 3 wires is there a way to fit this

its a 1.4i mkb escort

not sure if this is of any use but here are what each wire does..

Zirconia 3-wire: BLACK = signal
WHITE = heater
WHITE = heater
Zirconia 4-wire: BLACK = signal
GREY = ground
WHITE = heater
WHITE = heater

so i'd presume the sensor you have earths through the exhaust/manifold/engine

so if i earthed the grey it should be ok
