what would you do ?? UPDATE !! mint mk3 shell found projects a GO !!!
ok so as most of you know im building my cossied series two ,
well after the blasting the car was placed on the spit and rotated so we could assess the full extent of the floor ect ,
basically were not really happy with any single part of the fabrication that was carried out , wether it be shoddy welding , patching over patching of metal ect ect ect ,
so my heads ben offically up my arse all day
so now im left with three decisions ,
1. rebuild this shell , it can be done but with alot of hard work , expense and effort from everyone ,
2. try to source a mint mk 4 shell , saff floor and start from scratch , using mine as a guide ect , and go from there
3 . look in to other options for conversion , i.e mk 1 or 2 focus ( prob the latter ) or new shape fiesta ect ,
eveyones opinions welcome ,

yeah mate , so until this is sorted the other thing we mentioned will have to wait ,
if i had i floor i wouldnt feel so bad about it , and im not sumone to be eaisily defeated ,
but you know when it just seems a fuck load of work lol ,

im like that with mine m8,you should see my thread m8,my roof has awful holes in it and its rotten as fuck but im gonna cut it out and get a carbon fibre jobby,cuz the rest of the car is good,all waxoyld up etc.im gonna do mine because ive done a fair bit on it already,and dont want to be defeated,only you can decide m8 but id say REBUILD

If you've had your heart set on a cossied mk4 for so long then it would be nice to see it through, get a good escort shell, then get the fab done on that.
It would be done right, all your own work and a good showpiece for Blue Oval too.
Having said that, a focus is a more modern car, will possibly make a better car at the end of it?
Fiesta would be cool too

stay mk4 escort even if you do have to use silver bonus shell and a new floor, as how many mk3/4s do you see with cossie engines and it will surprise a few people as people expect new cars to be modified/quick unlike the old escorts

it's the later 90 spec car that has the bigger lump for the 4wd if you want that sort of thing, the scrap man is going to get it if no one else wants it, all you need to do is find a trailer or set up a road trip and i'll get it up to you for this weekend coming

Thats exactly what i have done with all my projects, i sat down and orked out ho much more i needed to spend on the project to get it finished and every time i have abandoned it cause its just mental how much money these projects sap

i would not want to sort out the shell you have...too much work/money to sort it out.
might aswell get another car which is pretty new,rust free and panels are freely available...maybe even body kitted panels like the rally teams have.
the whole thing though comes down to money...how much have you got to throw at it.
hope you sort something out.

fella i knew did the very first fiesta mk3 cosworth back in 1991,he got a wrote off shell from m53 ford and all the bits either slightly damaged or cheap and did it.
i reckon a new shape fiesta shell that needs repairing could be somthing brand new done,imagine the latest shape coz feesta Beuf!!
