Default brakes servo

does any one know how to test a brake servo while it is off the car (if this is possible)..its for a mk3 escort if that helps any..thanks

It's easy especially if you have a vaccum pump, but all the servo does is use the vac the only thing you can check is the diaphragm isn't split, basically the hole where the servo pipe goes just suck on a piece of pipe attached to this, if there's no resistance it's buggered, if there is it's ok.

sorry for being thick but when you say servo pipe do you mean the pipe that goes to the inlet manifold? i have a spare of those so could try sucking on that...sounds so wrong haha
