Brise http://www.brise.co.uk/ are excellent.
Becareful with the spec though as many race altenators provide no return below 3-4000 rpm

Have you worked out how much current you'll need atleast when powering everything at full boost?

But also:

What output is a standard 2WD Cossie?

Also I see that they seem to use Denso Nippon units and uprate them but I see the original Nippon Denso units on Ebay from around £55. I wonder if the original would work well - 55A for 2.5kg and similar mounting.

was thinking about a disabled scooter motor tbh ... something torquey and easily set up with some sort of speed control too ... so can work just like in oem position .and vary the output just like your normal setup

obviously wouldnt need a belt on either

Been in discussions tonight and we are looking at relocating the alternator to the otherside of the engine IF it will all fit and line up with the pulleys.

Few brackets machined up should see it sat snugly.

£500 for a small 110 amp brise jobbie which tbh you dont need on a track car.
The 40 amp brise/denso jobbie are around £165...quite a differance but when you get down to such a low amp rating youve really got be knowing what you leccy system can pull flat out as if you nearing that 40 and you fans cut in you might have a bit of bother.

Luke, personally I would not use a small 55 amp type on anything other than a kit like mine or Lees that have bare minimum electrics to run. Your best speaking to a local specialist and trying to hunt down a small forklift type version with a better output.

Agree with you there. However the new loom that was made when the car was built literally has the bare essentials to run the engine and to be road legal no other creature comforts whatsoever so I would imagine is the same in set up as yours.

Hopefully moving the alternator to the otherside of the engine will allow the current one to fit, if not then I shall have to source an expert on the subject of this.

I would go for a internal fan jap alternator from the scrappies.
Depending on how much power you want/need you could even put on a single phase one as found on some oddball cars, mostly small french ones, these are seriously compact.

Not the same engine I know but ive moved mine too. You may be OK with one similar to mine then if you have bare essentials. Mine works fine as said above although it struggles on idle if you have the lights or the rad fan comes on.
