it depends if thats the clutch only, i had a new clutch on my TDCI mondeo, from ford with discount i got the 3 piece clutch and my Duel Mass Flywheel done at the same time (common sence really) so come to nearly £400 for parts, i think (had a few beers now) plus fitting by an independant garage put me on the £800 mark inc rear crank seal.

So, if you can get it done by an independant garage i would plus have the DMW done at the same time if you can/ needs doing, about 10mm rotational movement is about the worst it should really be before being replaced.

Hi, cost me about 700 - 170 for clutch kit - 330 for solid flywheel from demon tweeks(ttv racing) plus fitting by local mechanic. ttv flywheel is excellent but gives more noise and a little dull rattling at tickover, basically the noise that the dual mass item reduces. Much better acceleration in lower gears though so I love it!! My wife drives it daily so no horror stories with driveability with a lightened flywheel.

TTV fly wheels should not give chatter as they are sold steel items and only half weight, that worries me as i have one being made for me at the moment that will accept a 240mm clutch. The fly is going to be less than £200 when done
My local ford wanted £1200 for the lot fitted

Right i just got clutch done on my FRS and it was cheaper than that. I'd like to think that the clutch kit is cheaper for starters? FRS was £330. Then theres the slave unit £125. Fitting was a homer at £20/hr. He did other jobs too so i'd say £200 tops labour.

I didnt need my flywheel done so surely an ST wouldnt either?

the ST has a dual mass fly with rubber bushing, it is in 2 halves with the bushing between, they wear out and need changing so a new fly wheel is installed when the new clutch goes in
If you dont change the fly it could eventually let go and exit the gearbox like a buzz saw
