ps3 wirelss quicky please.
Peoples ive sat for 3 hours trying to get my ps3 to do the business wireless, 90% sig strenth.
my problem is as soon as it tests connection it fails on the i.p address bit, ive got the correct details in there. does the ssic thingy effect it much, ive basically wrote speedtouch followed by the serial numbers, also proxy server ive not done anything in there????, its driving me banannas
where am i going wrong, it used to connect adges ago before i hard it hard wired, so my router should let it in etc, but iL be dammed to how it done it before.

rab i had this problem.tho i cant remember how i sorted it.let it find the ip automatically.theres a few choices as you go through the set up.you having to put in a security code(wep key)?il switch mines on just now and go through my set up.
the SSID is VERY important..lol it's the name of your wireless conenction, and is case seitive
just get the ps3 to search and find your wireless conenction, then enter the key, thats it
if your router is not broadcasting, then enter the SSID EXACTLY as it's written on the box
then enter the key
forget proxy, and IP will be automatic, unless you have accidentla clicked manual, if so, put it back to automatic (dhcp)

right here goes.on just now.network settings...(selecting a method-chose easy)
select a connection method (select wireless)
wlan settings_scan_itl come up your hub name.in my case bthome hub and signal strength.
my ssid was the hub name the screen before.
next is security settings-choose wpa-psk/wpa2-psk
will come up asking you for wep key_enter passkey that came with your hub on a card.
next is ip adress-i choose automatic

when you go to connect just auto select eveything untill you see your network selection pop up, enter the address make sure its right as above it is case sensitive. click okay should do the rest pal for you
Tried that mate, ive done it manually and auto, i have defo the right numbers in etc, i think iL just need to look into getting hard wired, its a pain as when i get a lap top i can sit my router at my ps3 in living room as i have a line behind my t.v.
Meanwhile im in my spare room on this computer with router here next to me. doh!

I have
SSid> speedtouch followed my some numbers
wep(hex) 2672C7E6F5
wpa (same as above)
Now when i go through to the test bit at the end, it comes up failed then a error code 8013013d ???
I also tried changing the wep code for the actual serial number printed on the router, but still no joy.
thanks again

The wep code is a password you need to create yourself to stop neighbours or someone sat out your front with a laptop from accessing your wireless network. Do not use WEP but go with WPA which is more secure than WEP.
Here is how my security is set up on my Belkin router
