Any 'Sneaker Freaks' on here?
Just browsing the forum whilst off sick from work and notice that although we all love cars on here, we also have a massive variation of other things we like, me and the missus have around 100pairs of trainers between us and i know the collectors thing is big, just wondered if anyone had any rare pairs?
Heres my favourite, designed and ordered them from Adidas originals store in NYC, made in Berlin, but then would only ship back to NYC so had them collected by a mate and then sent home for me. Their superstars style, but i chose the colourways, even down to the thread colours and insole.
Not old or vintage, but defo one offs!

I used to be a trainer freek had so many different types loads of old reebok classics but i haved moved on!
I now wear the plimsole style trainers/shoes (not to everyones taste) much more comfortable and look ten times better than clunky trainers, i used to say i'd never wear those but they look good with everything smart and casual

They cost me 90 dollars in march 2007, which was when it was 2 dollars to the pound! absolute friggin bargain, although there was only 2 places in the world where ya could choose your own colourways then, NYC and berlin originals stores, not sure now though.

Used to have loads, but when I moved I got rid of a lot of them. Some were limited editions some old and rare. Mainly Nike and Adidas.
I'm a big fan of Nike Air Max 90's and the last pair of collectors item trainers I bought were Nike Air Max 90's Olympics. Still have them, they are plain white all over, but the sole is multicoloured with the colours from the olympic rings.

Also still have some Trimm-Trabs, but I don't wear them much as I have kind of went off them. Don't want to get rid of them tho!

Love those 90's, the missus is a big fan, and has 3 different colorways in them, all white, black/green/pink and the original blue/orange/white. I spotted a set of Airmax 95's in all white last year, but didnt buy them, never seen a pair since though so wonder if they were fakes after all lol

i love my shells toes, have a pair of the limited edition new york ones from the 35th anniversary, think there was 3000 pairs world wide
got another 3 pairs of shell toes, as well, 2 pairs of limited edition air force one's, one pair of '82 matt black leather hi tops, and a pair of back to the future limited editions, they were a gift from mikael silvestre, from when i used to look after his cars, also got plenty of other rare kicks, as i like to have different to what everyone else wears

I'm a superstar man. Just wish I had a job to continue buying!
However, I DO wear mine - they don't end up sat on a shelf. Don't see the point myself.

K3V lol you are funny, no offence meant
I used to work with a guy, he said he had about 25 pairs of trainers. Sometimes he would wear a pair to work (like at weekends when he could get away without wearing safety shoes) and he would go APE if he got the slightest mark on them.
I thought he was pretty weird. He was nearly 30 and lived with his parents, so I just put him down as an eccentric grown up kiddie, but it seems he's not alone!
As I said please don't take offence

Fukin nice mate.
That's what my collection used to look like. Had 2 units with 6 shelves that you could pull out like drawers(not as long as yours tho) behind my mirrored wardrobe doors. I could get 8 pairs on a shelf!! They were all full and I had more lying all over the place. Was in my old house but I'll see if I have a pic.
Might start picking them up again. Wife won't be happy tho.

the two pair's i got off silvestre
these are like slipper, well worn and well comfy

I do like new trainers as much as the next man, but they're strictly consumables. They get worn till they're worn out then replaced.

The ones that got away
Was going to drive down to Manchester to get a pair of these. Think they were only selling them in 2 places, 1 in Manchester and 1 in London somewhere, can't remember.
Tried to pre-order them over the phone but the guy in the shop (think it might have been Y-3) said they would only sell in person, although I knew people that had already had orders taken. Think there was only something like 450 pairs made or something.
The box is in the shape of the Hacienda's dance floor.
Never went down in the end, would have been a waste of a journey. No chance of geting them. Folk were selling them for thousands days later.
