Well a decent Sapphire will cost you Ł8k+ so for 3drs to go up isn't a shocker - a 500 in similar condition to the one in question would cost you up to Ł30k so it's not that shocking if you start seeing 3drs (mint ones) rise to around Ł15-16k.

As for Pete he knows he got a bargain, we've already spoke about this over on the rsoc bb.

 

I agree with Chris on this, ok i,d NEVER advertise mine @ 20k cus personally i don,t think it,d sell at that price, it,s a very fine, low milage example and yes for 12k i think i got myself a damn good car for that, i,ve had about 4 or 5 people PM about selling and i,ve had some nice offers on it to be fair, but each-time i,ve pondered on it i just can,t bring myself to selling the car BECAUSE of how nice it is AND how hard they are to find now with low miles and RUST free.

Ok there,s 4-5 concours 3drs out there we al nkow about that are cleaner than mine, but for a non-concours car it,s pretty damn clean...

 

Chancer, even the owner must know it's not worth anywhere near that, he's just trying his luck. It's pronbaly the same guy thats trying to sell that guy craigs old 3 dr for 15k.... it's a nice car too but defo not worth that. Too many f*ckers trying to scam people and pass of shit as 20k cars. Either there idiots or have no concience.

 

not exactly a low miler.. 3drs are going up in price a couple years back you could get a good one for about 7k

 

mine had 40k on when i bought it 5 years ago and i paid Ł7200 and blew the engine up at 52k lol

You always get some people that try to convince themselves their car is MINT and worth much more than they paid for it.

 

Well i don't value mine at Ł20k nor do i think it's around Ł7k either but let just remember that they are a more desirable model to the Sapphire equivalent so the prices should carry.

 

20k my arse.id say about 15k max in the current climate.davie 3 door was selling his for 13k and it had ap's.comps.stage 3 etc etc and is mint.

 

the thing is now tho what are 3 doors worth when i restored mine there was no welding needed the floor is painted everything powder coated ap front brakes 18 inch comp wheels coilovers and the engine has 15k on with autronic ecu gt30 and loads of other bits but someone would rather pay 5 grand for a car and spend another 30 grand trying to get it nice but i would never think for a moment that i would get 20 grand for mine

 

Exactly mate - i stuck Ł20k+ into my cosworth ownership in 18 months

totally agree with you mate davies was a bargain at 13k imo and is only a 2 owner car and has all the goodies like genuine rs 500 bumper , ap brakes , comps also just won working class concours and working class car of the show at northyorks show just the other week .

makes his look for nothing compared to all these other so called 15 and 20k cars .
