Hi,
I am the cossie driver of this good track session, at Dijon.
Thanks for your compliments.
It was a very very good day, with a good battle with the Evo driver.
Evo driver was just a little faster than me on bends, but he cannot pass.
(pass when you can, where you can, if you can)
My 2 wd Saph was stage 2 engine, with 403 and Mountune EPROM. (340 hp on bench.)
IC is just 4x4 IC. Turbo Pressure was 1,6 bar, with a 4x4 T3.
Braking was stock, just with 1144 pads front and rear.
Suspension was Bilstein Sportline kit, with Eibach springs. (- 20 mm.)
Escort wheels, and Goodyear F1 tyres 215x40x16.
Now, my Sapph is on sell breaking, and I am waiting the new Focus RS for december 2009.
Best regards.
Claude
well done claude ,you done well with the old taxi and a 2wd taxi aswell,
so i reckon you deserve
so the guys in a 2wd saph with sports suspension and some mintex pads!!!that proves that he was a bloody good driver to hold of that evo and like said change the drivers around and it would of been a different story...the saph would be dead in the nearest armco...still proves that a cossy in the hands of a good driver can give most motors a run...cheers danny
thats total cock for starters to drive any car quick you need talent !
Have to disagree with you there jay, them evos are without a doubt easy to drive fast,i drove a full tarmac spec one for a day and it was very easy,a 2wd saff takes a hell of a lot more concentration to drive on the limit compared to a evo

easier al but not fool proof ! to drive quick on a track like the one on this thread mate , push any car hard enough itll bite you so talent is everything

agreed young scally and claude certainly can put that cossie to use

Agreed but don't think many people will try push it beyond that point because of the ease of driving one.
I seem to recall that either Jay or Si B had some camera footage at the time but I'm not sure if they ever uploaded it on here. If anyone knows, let me know...I'd like to watch the in-car footage
so what your saying is that the ford handles like shite and you need to be a hero to control one compared to an evo thats well balanced set up helps the driver? but considering most ford drivers are chavs and not heros thats why so many get written off?
