does the number at the end of an ip address mean anything? as in: 192.168.1.5

am i right in thinking that the 1st to connect to network gets 1, the second 2 etc? its just mines 192.168.1.11, does that mean 10 other pc's are using my network?

One way is to click start, run, type in cmd in the box. Dos window should open then type PING and the ip addy.

 

192.168.1.11 is the ip address given by a router I'm sure. Are you using a laptop and connected wireless?

http://www.showip.com/ will give you your real ip address

 

it totally depends on how you have yours set up, the only way to know is to look on your router.

youll probably find yours is set up to start at .11 lol

your wii, PS3 xbox, all "might" have an ip address on your network

as jim says, your dhcp pool might start at 11

log onto your router, that will tell you who has what
