They are made by Yokohama, they are the budget division of the company, i believe.

Cosworths deserve better tyres than that!! T
The tyre you chose has a massive influence over your cars handling/grip.

I've got 2 Nankangs on the rear of my 4x4 (Previous owner put them on not me!) and they seem ok however, they are coming off as soon I get time to put some proper Bridgestones on there.

They are not made by Yokohama.
They are the same colour
They replicated the tread to a degree

Maybe the Nankang actory is near Yokohama...that's about the only link.
They are good.....from stopping your rims getting scratched up on tarmac.

undriveable in the wet due to them shitty rubber boots by nangkang - made roundabouts interesting tho and fun

nankang

AKA

ditch finders.

sying that, i dont think them yoko A539's were any good, had a set on my old mk4 for 2 weeks, went round a bend in the wet and the fooker slid sideways, pretty much head on into a S reg toyota celica

needless to say, i have never bought yokos since!

We'll have Warley Daddy on here in a minute telling us how good the "Stunners" he had on one of his old cars were.

A cars handling is totally about the tyres, suspension, geometry, setup everything else is just trying to make the tyres work at there best. Plus your braking ability relies on them and your acceleration ability for that matter.

At the end of the day they are the only things that actually connect you with the ground, so not something to skimp on too much in my opinion.

Lasting twice as long says it all really, it's hard to have a grippy tyre that doesn't wear fast due to the nature of rubber compunds.

If you want to drive slow on a budget they will be ok but don't expect a lot of grip!!
