Default Quick lambda question

Is there any reason you can't mount them upside down?

I want to put mine into the underside of my downpipe as if i put it in the top i'll foul the heatshield.

You shouldn't mount the sensor in such a way that oil residue and/or condensation can run into the sensor. Mustn't be much lower than the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions IMO.
