external wastegate
ok guys need help
pros and cons to using and external wastegate
im building a mk2 escort cosworth
im using a 4x4 cosworth engine
i am going to have the sump big winged
and i was going to stick with the standard 4x4 manifold to get the clearance needed to if the cosworth in the escort
ive been offered an manifold with external wastegate
as i don't know anything about them i need your help
im guessing its going to need i different turbo?
im only looking to get around the 375bhp from the engine
i just dont want to spend money on the wrong things
many thanks for your help guys

to answer some of your questions, as your running 375hp ish i guess you'll be on a t34 turbo?
An external waste gate basically lets airflow bypass the turbo - if using an external wastegate you will need a boost controller, the boost controller basically opens the gate
with a t34 (assuming that's what your using) the internal waste gate is more than capable of doing the job, there is no need to over complicate things
