hi im thinking of purchasing a escort cosworth ive viewed one a couple of days ago. but im unsure of milage if its genuine. it has 08093 miles but im unsure because the misalignment of the number 8. can anyone give me some advise thanks

could have done 108. As for why its out of alignment it depends on how much.

You should blatently be able to see if its done 8k should be like new and Ł20K

it may just be that its only just gone over 8000 but if you should be able to tell if its only done just over 8k by the condition of it , does it not have old mot's or service history ?

the speedos are only ford escort speedos and not rolex movement quality, i have seen hundreds of cars that have had speedo changes due to broke instruments.

if the car has full proper history all documented with mileages and a low enough number of owners you can check to see if it all matches up.

a wonky 8 would not put me off if it has proper history and sometimes when the car flicks round a number they straighten up,also a bang on the dash can make the numbers fall into line and i have done this on escorts before.

if u get the mot station issue number off the mot u can check the cars mot history back 2 2005 when the mot went digital it will tell u what the car failed on,any advisorys and also the milage,u go through direct gov website and there is a link through the tax your vehicle on line page,hope this helps
