boxer dogs
hell there
im looking at getting a brand new puppy but i think i have put the misses off with my concerns over their health
anyone with a healthy boxer wanna post up here so i can show this to her
she thinks every boxer will have either heart, hip, hearing or seeing proplems
i know the cancer can be bad in them also (am i having doubts now) but if vet checked regular im sure we will be able to keep her healthy and wel
on the subject do you get your boxers mot'd with the vet? if so how often?

15K+ Super Poster!!
This one belongs to my other halfs mother. Soppy as hell, always trying to lay on you or have a cuddle... which is ok but the fact she weighs a lot
Health wise, she is fine, but she does suffer from allergies we think, which means she scratches a lot and chews her paws unless she is on the steroids. Other than that no health complaints.

Ours is Now 4.5 years nd he's mint! Loving, loyal, funny, well behaved ect ect
Health wise he's great, but all dog breeds have problem area's! Ive had a few boxers in my time and they've all done over 10 years apart from 1 who died at 18Months with a hole in his heart. ( we knew this on his 1st vets visit and the breeder offered full refund, but we loved him, so just kept him and took each day as it came...
Heres Bentley when we got him and to what he is now!
bit older
then started to drink on the streets
and started to work as a bin man!
how he is now
TOP DOGS.... you wont regret it!
( MAXEST has just bought a Puppy Boxer! he may post pics....

I had one several years ago, bought him as a new pup.
Turned out he had epilepsy which appeared at about 6 months old, was a fooking nitemare to be frank. Kept him until he was 2 years old, when me and the ex split and I couldn't keep him anymore, gave him away to a local retired couple who could be with him 24/7, thats what he needed.
Fortunately I had him insured, was costing around £150 month in vets fees and medication to keep him stable.
Also had a VERY delicate stomach.
That said, superb breed and temprament, fuck me they've got some energy tho. I'd have another but would do some serious research into the breeder and dogs family history etc.
BTW, the breeder I bought from was absolutely SHITE, didn't want to know about my problems at all, that was after all the sales patter "if you ever need to rehome him we'll have him back etc etc"
Buy very carefully...

my bitch Keira she is just over 2 years old now, absoloute cracking dog, such a big sook. loves the kids as they pester the life out of her and she NEVER growls at all when she is being nipped and climbed all over by my kids.
daft as a brush, likes chasing lights and shadows.
the bottom pic is when she was 10 weeks old and my then 2 year old daughter broke her leg.

Had one from a pup till we moved over here, he was coming up 12 when we rehomed him and was still as fit as a fiddle.
Just make sure you go to a good breeder, heard the local Essex ones are not that good Gus.
One a side note, mix him with other dogs early. Mine got attacked by another dog one time ( all mine wanted to do was play, as they do ) after that he wasn't good with other large dogs, and would attack any dog that got a bit frisky ( heard this from many other boxer owners aswell and is why you see most of them kept on a lead ), sopey they may be but are a handful if they want to attack you.
