when you can buy 3 pots of yogurt for a Ł1 round the corner i don't see why we should be paying Ł1.39 for one pot of "organic" from the supermarket

I don't think anyone buys Organic because it's ever claimed to be any healthier. People who buy Organic do so because they're fucking do-gooders!

I buy fruit and veg from my local farm shop, cheaper than tescos and last a shit load longer and tastes a hell of a lot better.

Well, that's quite surprising I think. But, I always was sceptical of organic because it's something so damn easy to falsify and exploit.

In at least 90% of cases..... no.

I would almost always eat the "normal" equivalent and I've never tasted anything untoward on them. I couldn't give a flying fook what chemicals have been used in order to grow/make them or the ingredients!

What a bizarre statement. Have you carried out research then to obtain this 90% figure, or is it perhaps just your opinion?

Of course most people buy it because it's supposedly healthier. what other fucking reason is there.

For exactly the same reason rich and famous people buy Prius'. To keep the tree huggers happy and make themselves look good and trendy.

I don't think I've ever bought anything organic. With the exception of baked beans, cornflakes and ketchup, I always get whatevers cheapest. Its all the same old shite just in a different box.

A chap I knew a few years back used to drive lorries for a large egg farm. He said there is sod all difference between a caged hen and a so called 'free range' hen.

What research/evidence did you use to obtain that figure?

I didn't. I based my statement upon the fact that the British public are getting more and more stupid each year, and it's nothing more than marketing cobblers.

Why else would people pay hundreds of pounds, for something like this

because they missed out when they were selling them in limited numbers in shops for a tenner or whatever it was? "Organic" people were queueing up for hours before the shops opened to get one of them. Why? Is it because they're afraid that plastic bags could leave a nasty rash on their hands, or give off fumes that could give them cancer? No, it's because they're a fashion accessory that the tree huggers will approve of.

What use would research be? If I were to read a survey (which I wouldn't because I don't give a flying fook!) revealing why people bought organic it would be a load of cobblers anyway! When asked, these people are hardly going to give accurate answers are they? Not when the most likely answers are along the lines of:

-Because Tarquin and Scarlett buy it
-Because it makes me look better than you
-Because I'm a ponce

I can't afford to waste my bloody money on organic food. Never made any difference in what I could taste anyway, and I have long suspected that there is no difference. The review just proves it.

I will however quite happily pay for fair trade food. The poverty caused in other countries for our food consupmtion is mad.

Grow our own, Tomatoes, Cucumber, lettuce, Broccoli, got some Cauli's going in soon and still trying to get decent spuds done too.
Get a weird sense of self satisfaction by growing our own (either that or its just being a tught arsed northerner )
