the long and the short of it is that the blokes dropped his car off for a service and the garage has fitted a new flywheel, clutch and gearbox and now they've caled him up saying "oops, we've made a mistake, can we have our gearbox and clutch and flywheel back please"

i didn't think this sort of idiocy still existed

Id cock a deaf un TBH. if some main dealer had fitted a new gearbox, clutch and (im assuming) dual mass flywheel, BY MISTAKE, id be quite pleased.

his conciense is giving him a hard time apparently so he's thinking about returning it back to them

personally i'd say i was just the contact number for the car and i'd have to speak to the owner to find out where they were and then not go back again but i'm not sure how legal this would be

Bugger the concience - does he really want somo 57k mile old bits fitted back into his car??

Assuming they can find them that is?
