That's brilliant news
I'm not a fan of Massa at all, but i can't deny the fact that he's a brilliant driver and i'm glad that his career hasn't been destroyed as the result of a freak accident.
I wouldn't wish the loss of your eyesight on anyone especially someone who's occupation relies on your hand to eye co-ordination and quick reflexes.

Good news but lets not all get excited about it just yet, i'm sure it'll be a while before they know if he can race again. Apart from the eye injury, I imagine the massive G's that an F1 car driver experiences would have a big effect on any underlying problems. i.e. fracturing your skull etc. nasty stuff. Hope he gets out of hospital soon.

Great news for him in terms of living his life, as above though I guess we will all have to wait and see if he can resume driving or not.

That is really good news, he's lucky considering what could have happened. I hope he makes a full recovery and can continue driving. I have him down as a future champion and I thought this year was going to be his year, sadly this season the Ferrari isn't as strong as I'd thought it would be.

fucking brilliant news

i was pissed off to say the least when it happened, doesn't matter who it happened to its just unexceptable for a race driver to loose his life/brain/eye etc in that way.

hope he can race again, massa seems like the nicest guy out of the big name drivers.

he's like barchelo and, to some extent, like senna, all quitely spoken and not into the celebrity limelight the other big names tend to bask in

on the other hand, his accident totally overshadowed lewis' win, weather that was by chance or not

Bernie doesn't think he'll be back for the rest of this season:

But F1 rights holder Bernie Ecclestone believes Massa may not drive again this season or even next.
"I spoke to the hospital and they're now very hopeful that it's certainly not as bad as they expected it would be," Ecclestone told BBC Radio Five Live on Wednesday.
"It's difficult to say whether or not he's going to be in a position to compete this year. Next year I don't know, but I doubt we'll see him this year."
