I know AOL is cack but...........
Is it AOL stopping me being able to get into my tiscali email inbox or is Tiscali down?
Stuck at my Parents house (they're away) till the weekend and they got crappy AOL and Parental Controls

I cant check my tiscali emails either via my mates AOL.
what i do is connect to AOL but dont use there programme, I open internet explorer and view them from there

as per manc, use the webmail service.
sounds like their pop3 server is blocking traffic from non-tiscalli dialups...
most people dont block pop3 (incoming) only smtp (outgoing) so it's a tad odd...

Nige its the port *most* pop3 mail servers use. AOL doesnt like people being able to use POP3 mail (even if it aint to their servers, but to another mail server), so randomly block it. So sometimes, you try to send an email and itll fail and fail and fail then work fine the following day
Ive not found a way to unblock it propperly as its on AOLs servers i think
