looking at getting a cosworth,my bros running a harvey gibbs 200 block long studed 400bhp conversion,but whats the limit on a 205 block thats gonna be reliable??

some run 500 bhp and do not have any issues some blow at 300 bhp!its pot luck mate just like with a 200block!think the general rule is around the 400 mark on a 205

I'm still on the 205 block and to date no issues on that side of things.

thanks for that,ive heard the 205 blocks dont like long studs is this right??so would an arp stud and nut kit be ok running 400bhp??

correct you can not long stud a 205 block!stay away from the arp stud kit for a 205 block as these tend to crack blocks!(although i think this is mainly because they do not get set up right!)standard genuine headbolts will hold 400hp no problem!

for wrc both surfaces have to be dead flat i would go for a escort cossie small turbo headgasket or a group A one!

I ran over 440 bhp on my saff with a 205block and previous to that it ran 410 for quite awhile fella...no issues at all..
