I think Rich was still kinda buzzing though from what had just happened to him!

Not driver error, no ones fault, just a plain accident

There has been alot of accidents after the Essex Meet, however ya can't blame the meet at all!!
Sad but wrong place wrong time, could of been anyone coming off that round about!

Respect to Billy,,,,,and of course his pants for surving and managing to stay on the road
& a HUGE to Roll, for managing to handle the car so well, and getting her to land where she did!! Honestly if you guys could see where they landed you would be fooking gobsmacked!!

As Jimbo said, it could of been alot worse, especially if they'd landed say a foot in the other direction, they would of just been sitting on the A127 facing the on coming traffic and,,,,,well don't even want to think about it!

Oh and soooooo pleased Jim's Glass's and Rich's Shoe was found

Well two cars going home last night on flat beds,,,,,poor Rich and his XR2 & got to agree with you all,,,,,I'm a fan of that car too and sorry to see it in that state

another big big big thanks to everyone whom helped last night- really appriciate it, was buzzing just a bit after the accident- kinda come back to reality with a thump now though, just please we both walked away- it really coulda been soooooo much worse if it had come off at the top of the slip road.

now the hunt for another xr2 begins.... if anyone knows of a mint one, or a mint shell in silver prefearably, but any colour except red and black, then lemme know!

ill get some more piccies of the car in a while for ya'll........

I just don't know what happened . There must have been something on the road as we nearly spun following Paul. As we came off the roundabout we were greated with Paul's Focus recovering from his spin. I assumed Rolls & Jim were in front and looked for the car only to see it at the bottom of the embankment.


Spirits were pretty high considering what had just happened and comedy moment was Jim putting on his very twisted glasses And me falling down the embankment running down to the car (Loadsa scratches on my legs and back)

End of the day everybody was ok so that's the main thing. Huge thanks to everybody who stopped and helped As I said last night Rolls anything I can do to help out just let me know

I think I know that stretch of road, and there's always diesel spillages round there....... I've had a Laguna twitch the back end round that way, and there's nothing you can do - it's like sheet ice!

There must be something on the surface on that slip road, my m8 ditched his Focus after the essex rsoc meet in what sounds like exactly the same spot he wasnt going fast at all either.

Bet you lads are glad it was a clean straight car and not full of filler and rust or you'd be dead for sure.

Just thought Id add my 2p - driving to work this morning I managed to get my Golf out of shape on a corner at about 15mph. (AndyRST- you know the one, the big left then right at the top of my lane!) Temp guage was reading 10 degress, so no chance of ice on the road. The roads just seem really really slippy at the moment.

Also driving down my lane last night, touched the brakes and the ABS cut in Again no ice.

Guess we all need to be careful at the moment - icy or not!

looks like the search will be on................ gona take a while, but most of the new engine stuff is in the garage already...
