what small fast car can i buy for this amount of money. i only really know of fords but have never really thought of going elsewhere, so help please???

106 gti they go very well with some mods handle excellent and much quicker imo then a corsa/nova with 2.0 16v

I used to have a Clio Williams and even though I've had a fair few motors since that have had alot more power, 4 wheel drive etc etc, I'd still definately say that's the car I had most fun in, they're great!!

Neva been in a GTI but had a race with one and i was shocked how fast they really are.
How about a Mk6 Rs2000 I love driving dads one so much fun.

You don't generally want the bottom of the pile fast car in terms of price. You may quickly find you are paying a shitload more on getting it fixed all the time. I'd suggest something with a VTEC engine in it as well don't know what Civics you will find around for £1500 though as above try a CRX or possibly look at a Golf VR6 will all be sky high miles at that price though.
