dodgy steering rack seat leon fr 2004
hello...cossie wasn't 100% to take to the track last week so i took my leon.i was using second hand slick all day and now i think my steering rack is f..... will using slicks put extra stress on rack ?as the same thing happened to me last nov.i replaced the rack back then and now the same thing has happened again.im hoping i can change it under warranty.
do u think slicks are causing to much stress on rack?
do u think ps liquid is over heating?
do u think 210bhp is too much with no diff and wheels spinning out of bends could do this damage?
or do u think like my wife im to agressive with steering?
anyone else had problems with their steering rack on their vw/seat/audi/skoda 1.8 20vt engined cars

Slicks load the suspension and brakes massivly more than std tyres...
Track days in general are also harder on steering components than the road is.
Whats wrong with the rack?

theres no noise when turning wheel on the spot but once on the move theres a lot of knocking noise coming from the driver side of rack as if something was slapping around.ive had a look and there seems to be nothing loose.will have to get car up on ramp to see properly
