Jimbo - the last part of your post is a rare example of common sense from a young driver. Well played mate. Right attitude.

I started with 59bhp and learned how to rag it to death first, then std rsturbo and worked from there. Starting out with 400bhp isn't the way to do it.

Loving the engine and can't wait to see it in action

Congratulations Andy !!

Well done Harvey, Tim & Jimbo, the thing that always impresses me the most with SCS engines is the drive ability i had a 450bhp lump from them that would eat other tuners 500bhp lumps on the tight and twisties, im sure Andys car will be insane.

Quick question for Jimbo, who do you learn more off Tim or your Dad ? Design wise your Dad, build wise Tim i would guess, yay or nay.

Depends on what parts you already have and what you want doing etc..

I had my engine built from scratch brand new block etc took a couple months but i had alot of chroming, anodising, painting done outside SCS so didn't take long on there behalf.. if It was just a standard looking engine I would imagine half that time? maybe less dependent on work load.

i wouldnt say i learn more off any of them tbh, when in the engine room with tim i learn the building of the engines side of things,

when with the old chap i learn about all the machine work that has to be done, and how and why you decide on the parts used and the advantage disadvantage, also all the dyno and mapping side of things

so like you say bit of both

Not trying to take anything away from SCS (as it obviously is a very powerful engine) but...

Surely running the engine on the dyno with ACTs that the car won't actually be able to achieve in real life is cheating just a little bit?

I for one would also be happier if it was mapped at real life ACTs. I have no doubt that T6 has very good ACT compensation tables if configured correctly but this means you might run into a situation where due to the higher ACT and also the fact the ecu may have knocked a degree or two off means the engine only ever makes 750 bhp in the car.

Would just like to point out, the air temp on the dyno sheet is the dyno room cell temp not the act for the engine.

Engine was mapped at 40 degrees C.

Charge air retard for ignition in the map does not affect the ingnition untill 50 degrees C.

awesome power Andy! I can't even imagine how insanely fast the car is going to be with this bolted in!! I thought it was awesome at croft and it was like being in a roller coaster so this thing is just going to be unreal!! You owe me another passenger ride mate.............Oh and Kenny's head looks smaller than it did on saturday but that might have been the vodka

PS: Does anyone know if there is a car out there that someone makes that would have a power to weight ratio of 800hp/ton!? Would like to see this car against a veyron !!LOL

Great Andrew..

Im interested in its reliability at 800+ as Jimbo says lots more Power in their but difficult to know when to stop, we found the same.
What was the DINCor Factor.

Suggest it will be good for 208/209 if your carefull with the gearing as Power is dropping over 7.5K.

Sounds like a reasonable question to me.

Makes sense to me, after all the room temp is the one that effects any DIN correction, NOT the ACT after all.
Just badly labelled I guess
