theres a cervical cancer vaccine around ages now that every woman is entitled to get (in ireland anyway) http://www.gardasil.com/ If a universal cure for cancer was discovered it would get out, governments dont need to use cancer to keep the population down either, theres enough wars etc to do that.

As has been said, cancer costs the NHS billions of pounds a year so they could do without it, if a pharma company sold a vaccine in its billions the govt would get a fortune back through jobs, taxes etc so it would balance out the cost of having to pay for the people who are entitled to it for free.

Less people with cancer would mean more people in employment and paying tax which is the bread and butter for any government, hospitals will still be full as ouve got a 100 other diseases to worry about.

As Warren said keep an eye on factual things... North Korea and China are going to be the next big news....
