hi all i ave heard so much bwt lsd and atb and wot do they do and wot does the names stand 4

 

ATB- Automatic torque biasing..

If one wheel is spinning more than the other the diff transfers power to the other wheel to get even wheel spin IIRC

 

an LSD i susually a plated diff, very little give, good in RWD, a bit odd in FWD.
ATB isn't so harsh, as R5FORD, the ATB transfers the power to where its need, not so good n RWd but nice in FWD.
This is as far as i'm aware and not gospel!

 

I think ATB is no good if your planning on going airborne

 

atb is great for cornering in a fwd, tricky keeping it in a straight line tho!

the atb that quife use is a purly mechanical device whereas most common lsd's use plates of fluids inside them to progrevisly lock up

 

Should of bought last months fast ford (the one with the series1 thrash), was a good feature on all the differnt types of Diffs!
