oil filter set up on a cossie engine.....
i have a escos which is rear wheel drive.. and i'm always tweeking the engine and cleaning it etc.
but i hate how complicated the engine is under the inlet manifold its a pain to work on.... i want it stupidly simple!! i'm even ditching the dizzy housing...
basically i want to ditch the big 4x4 metal arm that holds the oil filter and replace it with the 2wd oil filter set up and free up loads of room...
has anyone done this before? ive noticed that there is a oil modline attached to the block, then the oil filter arm bolts on the front of that... i'm wondering if i un bolt the arm would the 2wd filter go straight on?
any info guys?
cheers

thanks guys ive just had a look at it and theres no way a filter would fit on the modline as the engine mount arm is too close!! so take it that ideas out the window!!
a 2wd engine mount arm wouldnt line up with my subframe would it?

thanks james i'm trying to ditch everything i dont need!! i think these kits are a cluter!!lol
when you own a escos after a saph the shorter front end does make the engine a lot tighter to work on, so as i'm tunning bits i'm removing the 4x4 stuff as i go!

thats not a bad idea...could put the coil pack, breather, ignition amps all there the cossie engine is so simple anyway that any thing else that can be ditched makes it so basic! quick to fix and diagnose all the time!
once i sort this oil filer part out i will be able to change clutch cables with no tools or jacks just put my arm around the inlet job done 15min job at the road side!! i think its a must to carry one in the boot when running a heavy duty clutch cover!! i snapped one last week!!

I relocated my filter to the righthand side behind the frontbumper.. highly recommended. Even easy access putting your arm up from below when making oilchange if you havent got all kind of fancy lift etc.
