Default How well Known are UB40?

Maybe a stupid question but have you heard of them? do you like them?
I think everyone knows something to do with them in brum, but i was wondering how well they're known outside the midlands.
I am always around birmingham with work and stuff and know a few of their old haunts from the good old bad old days. It just got me thinking,

Also, a few others you might or might not know who are from the west midlands.

Ozzy osburne, was Born and raised in winson green, Birmingham. Tony Lommi, the guitarist from Black sabbath was born in neighbouring Aston, Birmingham.
Lemmy From motrohead was Born in stoke.
Slade were famously from Dudley in the black Country with that unmistakeable accent, Noddy holder, dave hill. Don powell and jim lea Were from wolverhampton.
Dexy's midnight runners are brummies. i know the drummer vaguely through a friend, His family disowned him as a late teenager because he was gay, Then wanted him back once he hit it big GUTTED! haha.
Duran Duran,
ELO (electric light orchestra)
The charlatans.. ??
Judas Priest.
Ocean Colour Scene - From moseley (where UB40 started out too)

and the best for last. i'll bet you didn't know Led Zeppelin were from West Bromwich. Robert Plant is a huge baggies fan.

Where do you get your info from?!

I know Robert Plant personally, he lives just down the road from me in Shatterford, and is a huge WOLVES fan. I went to the 2007 play-off game at Molineux with him!

And how cool that you know him. I love Led Zep, they're my favourite band of al time i think. they knocked queen off my top spot when i was about 16 and have been there ever since. you just CANT beat tangerine after you've been out for the night. come in and stick it on ,chill out to fook Yout might have a stalker sooner than you think

Yeah, but when you live here, the "second city" doesn't really seem to have alot to offer. its nice to have a small claim to fame.
