The leaf springs need to sit under the axel and the u clamps turned upside down and re-clamped

Think there is another way but unsure on it

as above but you need to make 2 square plates with 4 holes in each for the clamps to fix to.

on a mk4 escort van it will instantly lower it approx 80mm.

or the proper way, and the only way you are going to get 30mm, is to have your springs de cambered, not expensive at all really

This is how I did mine..
-remove 4 u bolts
-disconnect brake pipes and handbrake cables
-unbolt R/H rear leaf spring mount
-remove axle
-cut spring mount off axle and weld opposite side (with spirit level)
-bolt holding 2 leafs together, turned upside down
-fit axle (on top of spring)
-bolt on plates and u bolts
-remove brake compensator..
JOB DONE!!
took Me 2 Hours..
if You cut front spring by 2 coils, it will match rear. BARGAIN!!
I got 15" et 16, so I had to roll rear arches for clearance..
