Love the fact that when you look at your feet you can see absolutely everything all the pedal linkages and steering and suspension components. I'd probably stuff straight into a hedge i'd be so distracted!
Don't half fancy a run out in one of those new V8 ones they were talking about on Top Gear on Sunday

I went to a rally experience day on Sunday and they had one of these. The sound when the supercharger winds up I wanted a go but it was Ł40 for 3 laps and a 2 hour wait to get in one

Never really liked the look of them if im totally honest, although i love the idea of being able to see all the components moving as your driving it that said... it looks fantastic in the first photo!
It must be an absolute hoot to hoon around in, i'll join the 'i would love to have a go in one' band wagon.
I'd be interested to hear more on this too

I woulddn't buy one fore toffee. They are pretty poorly engineered and have a number of design flaws. Have a search for all the suspension component failures they have. Uprights, pushrods, rockers, they all fail. In fact if you do tthe maths the suspension has even been designed with a falling rate!

The one good thing is they DON'T depreciate whatsofooking ever!!!
I know someone who ran one for about 20 trackdays and sold it for more than he paid!
Light on tyres, brakes and fuel as well.

My brother's next door neighbour has one of these, and took him out in it not so long back.
He opened it up at a junction straight line, and was clear of 100mph within around 200 yards, so yes they're hellish quick ( imagine 300bhp supercharged shopping trolley, just lower ) and will slaughter absolutely anything on the road fron a standing start, and brake just as well due to no weight to re-inforce the speed on braking.
Incidentally Chop, my brother lives in Aberdeen.....dunno where bouts you are.
And lastly, as soon as the guy bought it, and checked all the tech spec details with Ariel, they offered to buy it back off him for Ł10k MORE than he'd just paid to get it.............

Nah, just can't get on with the looks to be honest and I KNOW most people will disagree but I would feel a bit of a Wally driving one. They are sooo open. Thats just me though and I KNOW its weird and wrong!
They are cool as hell. Very fast, great fun and very accomplished track cars.
I've driven one and it was the NUTS!!!!

Cool car, I drove one at Silverstone and was impressed by the go go. Didn't get to test the handling (bar a couple of near spins) as it was pissing down.
They are made about 5 miles from me, and I see one a few times a week out on road test - the guy driving it in winter always looks like he's going to freeze to death.
Aside from the practicalities and price which are scary, they are such a cool car for the purpose.
I really fancy a track biased car, but a Radical / Westy XTR would be higher up my list for sure

Those Autocar 0-100 tests are awesome, just shows how damn fast the Atom is !
When I did the Cannonball I met a fella with one and helped him sort some problems out so he let me do a trackday in it when we got home, totally insane car, I felt like a driving god and I wasn't giving it anything like as much as you would if you were a bit familiar with one.
It turns out the chassis is made in Huntingdon down the road from me, I needed some welding doing and was advised to go to this place for it, it turns out thats what they make amongst loads of other things.
What was it in for Stu ?
