What i have done in the past is put the fiesta turbo in my mums name and insured the 1.1 as fully comp (or some insurers will do any car with third party) then with your "mums" permission you can drive the turbo as 3rd party only.

This was a few years ago and got a funny feeling the turbo may have to be insured with your mum now,but always worth finding out.

Yeah but your mum needs to have the turbo insured in her name too. Other wise you aint covered for your 3rd party insurance.

Apologies if thats what you meant.

I had a traders policy with tradex when i was 21 with a ban on my licence and several points, it was expensive but not as expensive as everywhere else. Still have a traders policy to this day as i have my bike sinsured on it and no one would touch me !!!

For traders I had a quote once, was a Ł400 increase, and I could only drive upto 1.6l cars.

why is it not legal? if the cars in his mums name and is insured by her - he can drive it 3rd party on his own policy if it allows - might be a workaround and you might not like it - but its perfectly legal.

hang on a mo the thread topic is a traders policy init ????????????????????
theres been no mention of flogging cars ie trading. are you trying to get us to help you fraudulently obtain insurance so you can insure a rs turbo you otherwise could not afford to insure ????????????

try claiming with no recipts to show buying or selling and see how far you get or god forbid you kill someone and the police start digging cos they will and so will the insurance if the worst happens.

tell me what it says then on your terms and conditions as mine allows me to drive any other car third party providing it is not my car and it is insured. what is not valid about that?

Tradex do not cover any performance cars if you are under 25

the small print normally states a 1400cc restriction if you are under 23

a good friend is an underwriter @ Tradex

avoid
