Default Stuck Cambelt Pulley

The cam belt pulley on my crank is seized solid

I've had this problem before - I had to drill and split the old one with a chisel, there was no way it was coming off.

It's too tight to get a normal puller in there - the manual shows a special puller for this (21-028 A), this is the only way I can see to get it off without resorting to breaking another one.

I don't suppose anyone has one they wouldn't mind lending me for a few beers, or anywhere that hires them out?

Cheers!

Neil.

I've got the big pulley for the aux belts off no bother, it's the toothed cambelt pulley behind it that's stuck

I need it off to replace the oil seal!

Pour a kettle full of boiling water over it then use mole grips, it will come of.

can't believe this has happened again to you!
did you clean up the crank before fitting it to ensure it wasn't a to tight a fit?

you could undo the alloy front plate and use that as a lever, I have a spare in me stash if you break it. I have done that before but it was on a pinto crank that was off the car so the risk of dropping stuff into the sump wasn't there tho!

The crank was as clean as a whistle Stevie, I coppaslipped it up before I fitted it too.

It'll bust that front cover for sure methinks.

I'll try heat but I can't see it coming off in one piece - Paul has some in so I'll just buy another if I bust it

You can't get a puller on it Dan. It's not the aux belt pulley, it's the cam belt pulley.

Was that genuine advice or just a joke?
