Default Oil filter catalogue listing threads and diameter of sealing ring?

I need to find a catalogue of oil filters that lists each by its spin on thread and the diameter of the sealing ring.

I am trying to find out if there is a shorter filter available which would fit a volvo T5 filter head. I know going smaller is bad in theory but if I change it regularly (every 2 or whatever) it should be fine.

Even a gain of 10mm would be worth having

I cant find a way to list filters like youd get in for instance a clutch catalogue tho. Going to be a long day searching thru all the filter part numbers one by one!

ok, found the Australian company Ryco who let me search by seal diameter and thread.

http://www.rycofilters.com.au/catalogue/dimension

only one was shorter than the standard T5 filter (85.6mm) which was Z314 at 62mm

Rtcos site was then a little useless, but going back tot he Wix site I coul cross reference that number with the equivalent Wix filter and then look up applications which gave me Renault (68-84) and lotus europa (Part number 51335)

Part Number: 51335
UPC Number: 765809513358
Principal Application: Renault (68-84)
All Applications
Style: Spin-On Lube Filter
Service: Lube
Type: Full Flow
Media: Paper
Height: 2.483
Outer Diameter: 3.670
Thread Size: 3/4-16
By-Pass Valve Setting-PSI: 8-11
Anti-Drain Back Valve: Yes
Burst Pressure-PSI: 280
Max Flow Rate: 7-9 GPM
Nominal Micron Rating: 21

Gasket Diameters
Number O.D. I.D. Thk.
15614 2.834 2.462 0.255

Should allow me to remove an extra inch off the sump and drop the engine by the same.

The only possible issue is the by pass valve pressure on the renault filter is the bypass pressure is only around half what the T5 filter is. I assume this will only become an issue as it gets clogged? (needs to be changed sooner)

Cheers

How about fitting a remote mount oil cooler and dropping the engine as low as you like ? That way you can keep the larger filter

weight and cost and trying to route inflexible hydraulic hoses in a cramped bay and the fact that a closed ended takeoff plate is nigh on two inches thick anyway means its not worth while for this application I dont think. I had thought about it.

Ill need to look up the bypass pressure for the cossie filter....

I cant find any details on that cossie filter, it wont show up on WIX site like the others.

DOes anyone know if Im going to run into potential problems with the bypass pressure? Or will it just bypass in a less clogged state? Ie can I get around the lower pressure by changing it more often?
