Default Haynes Model build your own engine..

Has anyone seen/used one of these? am interested in rebuilding the clio but cambelts and pistons scare me abit and this will be the first time i have properly taken a engine apart lol, do u think this will help?....or is it best left to the PROS im quite compitent with a spanner

most of the new ones are crap as when it gets to the bit you need it says this operation should be carry ed out by dealer trained technicians

best bet is to buy a old mini & the haynes for it & start there

Have a go, if youre competant with the spanners it shouldnt be too much hassle, take your time, take photos of each step if youre not sure you can remember how things go back together etc.

The haynes for the clio 16v is pretty poor from what i remember when i had mine, i dont think it covers the F7P 16v or F7R Williams engines

I think i have some photos somewhere of a clio 16v engine in bits if they'd be of use to you, even if only to satisfy the curiosity.

Forgot to add that the cambelt on a Clio 16v isnt too difficult a job, its more a problem due to lack of space, as the engine is very close to the drivers side inner wing!

Theres no room anywhere! lol, photos would be cool mate, just dont wanna fuck it up.............
