Default Peugeot turbo diesel experts? engine oil....

I've just purchased a 2006 Peugeot E7 hackney taxi, its got 90k on the clock with full history.

The service intervals are 18k but I always do the oil and filter every 5k in my taxi's. The oil recommended is 5-30 fully synthetic. Would semi-synthetic 10-40 be ok? it will be doing 5k max in the engine?

Its the 2 litre 8v turbo engine

Cheers all!

I would say 10/40 will be ok.

I run Mobil 5w-30 in the HDI, but i have been told 10-40W is fine, as for semi and Fully synth, i am unsure, but to be honest its only Ł34 with filter to do a fully synth

Cheers for that mate, i do 5k every 6 weeks so am trying to keep costs down lol

It was the 10-40 bit i wasn't sure about, it should be fine then. Any idea how much a fuel filter is?

Either use semi syn and change it more regularly or use the good stuff and extend your service intervals
