Ever so slighty fooookin ****** off
3 years ago (going to sound laxzy now but) I had a concrete base put in my back garden 16ft x 10ft 3inches
well I got around to buyign all the bolts I needed to put together a prefab conrete lock up Ive4 had sitting around
got well into it tonight and it's 3inch to short on the width so cant build it!!!
The twat that did it has gone to Spain to live now aswell so cant argue (slap) him now either!!!
not to sure what to do not being a builder and trying to do this on the cheap any way.
if I make up shuttering on the edge and add 3inches surely it wont be strong enough to hold up the concrete sections?
thinking it wont stick to the original base like if that makes sence?
any advice apreciated.
I'm off to go sulk for a bit.

without seeing what your trying to describe its hard to work out exactly the set up but theres always a way around problems when you take time to think about it.
whats short? why wont it bolt together if the sides are 3 inches shorter?

if the side walls are 3 inches short wont it still bolt together but make a narrower lock up?
...edit...
i see its the base thats short not the wall sections? another section of concrete can be poured to make it wider . its not a big problem, dont worry about it.

Na as they are pre fab bolt together if i cut 3£ off one it wont have any way boling together then
that wouldnt be strong enough as they are 3x2Ft concrete section very very heavy
I just have this picture in my head of concrete added to the side not stayign attatched to the base for long with the weight of the wall ?
Pics uploading now lads so youll get a better picture

Team HOTHOT!
Here is what you need to do
1: Dig out at one side of the base that has easiest acces.
2: Drill into the side of the base at multiple points using a 12mm masonry bit - go about 10" deep
3: Insert rawl bolts fully into the holes and use bolts that will stick out of the face about 2" (screwed rod would be good here)
4: Weld lengths of "re-bar" (Re-bar is just length of steel rodding) to the bolts that are stuck out so they are parallel to the base - do this and interlock them a bit too welding for strength
5: Make a shuttering that is 2" wider than you need (so 5" in your case) and then fill with concrete - once it sets, the re-bar will have the strength to stop the extra concrete from moving about.
Thats what we did on a friends garage base after the builder coked up and fucked off

Dig the extra down the side , dig it a little bit deeper just to be on the safe side. Then drill into the side of the base and insert some steel rod to act as a re enforcment and this should tie it together. Im no builder but it seems logical to me, Frank.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
I would go down that route as well as the walls look thick enough to be able to cut a fair chunk off them, just hire a petrol saw with a diamond blade probably still be cheaper and stronger than buying ballast, cement, re-bar, and bolts etc,

Whos frank? lol. I'd def trim it down. Imagine if he ads more concrete to the side and it cracks away over the winter and has to take it all down and rebuild it or worse it falls down, plus the cost of the extra materials. FIRE UP THE GRINDER........... FRANK!!
