Ive got them all!! I did loose a time line i wrote which had massive detail on everything and if put together would have been a mini autobiography. Ive got 3 pages of like 30 left which is annoying as it all got water damaged and i couldnt save the rest of it. It takes so much energy to write everything down like that.
so your behaviour would appear to be insane thus getting you injected and a longer stay, whoops.
You cant really win in nut houses either as the more violence you use, the more restraint they use and the more "secure" facilities you end up in, yet if you pretend to be fine to get released and say im ok, they will usually work it out and say denial is part of your illness
mostly serious, angry, bit of sadness, self hatred etc I could write a fairly long list of negative thoughts, but you get the picture!!
much much more violent and much more blood/death. To be fair i was probably the "illest" of the group (in the navy day hospital that is) as the majority had generally mild/moderate depression, anxiety, panic, and someone with OCD so when they did drawings it was mostly things like sheets of blackness with a light in distance, hands hancuffed etc
after a couple of weeks i was told to keep most of my thoughts to myself and had to keep pictures between me and shrink as it was "scaring" the others. In reality i was probably not in a group that suited my needs nor had "peers" with that similar issues so it was never going to work, but the navy only has that one day hospital service for all mental patients. Didnt help that the first 10 minutes each day i wasnt there as i was subject to compulsory arm inspections by a nurse to stop me self harming, so try answering "where you been" questions from the group who mostly have little or no experience of self harm!! Didnt help that i was also the only Officer in the group, the rest being NCO's and sailors. And it really doesnt help that your told to set an example to the sailors being the officer there, despite supposedly being in a "no ranks" day group and the fact that mental illness effects officers and the men in just the same way. Rank doesnt bring immunity to mental ill health

Did you ever get an actual named diagnosis of your condition by the way mate?

Chip, the key is to know when your about to get sectioned and agree to go to hospital voluntarily as sectioning is only to be used as a last resort. If your a voluntary patient you also have the right to leave and more rights over treatment options. Although they can section you if you try to leave, or use the threat of sectioning to make you stay. But technically they arent supposed to threaten anything, but in reality they do.
ive had loads of different diagnosis over the years chip
Initially they wanted to diagnose borderline personality disorder so they could "administatively" discharge me on grounds of temperamentally unsuitable for service (ie character doesnt fit) but they soon realised they couldnt get away with that as if my character/temperament didnt fit in, then how had i survived 8 years of service before becoming ill. They obviously couldnt answer that!!!
but since then ive had adjustment disorder, reactive depression, moderate depression, personality traits, post traumatic stress, post traumatic stress disorder, autistic traits!! On my war pension the MoD accepted responsibility for PTSD and "depressive" disorder but not anything else. The NHS hasnt made thier mind up whats wrong with me!!

Yeah if you go of your own accord they dont have to section you, which is handy as being sectioned can effect things like getting a temporary work visa in some countries etc as its a question they will ask "have you ever been sectioned under the metal health act" or whatever.
So certainly makes sense, but obviously depending on your illness you might not be thinking straight enough to realise that I guess
Perhaps they will just call it penalver syndrome and be done with it, its bound to be the correct diagnosis then

maybe chips a long lost sibling???
Its obvious, you want reliability and its only the relatively recent L85A2 that worked. You dont want them to shoot you and the damn thing misfires!!!
Had i been sectioned, i wouldnt be allowed to even be a security guard I also would have been unlikely to get a mortgage if i was still under a section for aftercare not to mention the fact my mortgage requires life insurance which would be too expensive to be viable had i been sectioned!
So im just retarded from birth then??

Having worked in a Acute Mental Health unit for a number of years, i've seen loads of people become 'Institutionalised' due to the drugs and treatment used.
Electro Convulsive Therapy is no joke either.
Hope everything works out for you Warren.
