As he doesnt quote the offset, its hard to really know without trying them on, I would expect them to sit too far out and rub the outer arches though as typically VW's are a much lower offset than vauxhalls.
Should bolt up ok though as im fairly sure its the same PCD.
I would ask him if you can go and try one on before bidding?

yep, ive been told the pcd is the same at 4x100. its the offset and centrebore im not sure off. i might just buy them blind if they go cheap enough and chance it as its to far away to try first. if they dont fit i can always stick them back up on ebay

according to an online wheel size guide....
....................pcd..............offset....... ..........c/bore
astravan 4x100...........35-42...................56.5
vw polo 4x100............32-38....................57
a slight variation, would the c/b difference of half a milimetre cause wheel wobble?

Due to the wheels being aftermarket the centre bore would probably be 63mm or some other higher bore. Get some spigot rings and it should be fine. The offset would probably be around 35-38 as that is what alot of cars use.
