Default is this an air lock?

changed the water pump on the scooby, filled it back up and now i have no hot air in the heaters, the rad is hot on top left cold elsewhere, and the bottom hose is stone cold...

is it an air lock? ive tried for last hour to get rid but its the same... how can i sort it?

yeah sounds like air mate,

is there any bleed points in the system?

dont think so, its meant to be self bleeding... how else could i do it, bearing in mind it seems like its the rad/bottom hose (hose goes from rad to thermostat)

because your stat is closed the air cannot escape from the rad and hose i reckon,

sometimes there are bleed nipples on the stat housing,

otherwise, its a case of running it, at idle, untill the stat opens, being carefull to not let her overheat,

It definately sounds like airlock. the old skool way to bleed a system is to fill it up, run it up to temp with the rad cap off and the heaters on full heat. (if this means a trip round the block ten times then so be it)

but every old car also has rubber hoses you can "pump" with your hand to induce surging and try and force the air pockets out. i've no idea about subaru's.

let it cool down then pop off the hose before the stat and fill it with water holding the hose up till its full , refit and bobs your uncle

yeah i would try this and make sure that someone is watching the gauge as you pump the hoses and dont do it to hard as it start to get hot...
