Default How Much For My Alloys Wheels To Be Refurbished?

How much is the average price? 8 months and not one single mark, and then two in one day. It's just typical. How much can I expect to pay, and will they use the original wheel colour?

About £150 is the going rate up here for a refurb of wheels. You can pretty much tell them what colour you want them and they'll do it.

Cheers,

That's sounds ok, I'll have to see if anywhere in Liverpool does them! Cheers,

I don't want it too close. I can't do a runner then if I am not happy with the job.

I've just finished re-doing a set of wheels myself, took me 3 months

Seriously though, by the time you have bought all the paint and other materials you will need to carry out the job, a profession re-furb will cost the same, if not a bit cheaper!

All depends on the finish you want though. 2 cans of primer, 2 of topcoat and 2 of lacquer is what I used on mine per wheel, thats £36 per wheel before i've even got the rest of the materials required!

What paint did you use to do all 4 for £50-60? Dulux?

mine were powder coated, i have seen aerosol jobs and they can look shit imo if your not good with the prep and can look shabby quickly, i have done aerosol jobs meself before though and been happy with the results on say a transit for less than a tenner with the alumminium silver but it took time to do.
mine on my cozzie cost 300 quid inc vat, that was a top job though by the company wolf use, that included shotblasting them first. they still look like new and its a fantastic finish, infact they are show quality.

Ah ok, going by a LOT of DIY threads the going rate for doing it yourself is the 50-60 mark, if its £6 a tin then 8 tins is £48 then £12 for stuff like wet n dry etc.

I suppose if you build it up with more primer more paint and more laquer than normal its gonna cost more.

Surely no more than a ton!

But the money goes in the labour, I understand it takes probably a day to get a set of alloys to the priming stage.

Either way, will give it a go

And then promptly call a pro from yell.com

Surely if they are sandblasted and just painted, the kerb marks will still be there?
I guess this is a good option if the paint is just flaky tho..

You will be surprised how thick the paint on alloy wheels are.

Only very bad kerb marks will be through to the metal, I was very surprised after I blasted the paint off mine!
