was checking on that noise and on some skyline forums says that on these there is normally an exhaust manifold problem with snapped bolts so cause a noise so could be that worth checking as quite a few replies saying thats a common 1 hope youlike it looks cool m8

cant hear or feel anything when driving it. knock sensor is seeing excessive knock though, i havnt looked at gauge yet still gotta figure out the controller but guy said at 2.5k revs it reads upto 100 but only quickly doesnt hold ?

its all bonnet up engine free running what ive listened to. he was advised bottom end is on its way out but ive never heard an engine with a bottom end knock act or sound like my car does ? it doesnt get faster with revs it goes away completely !

well spoke to tr racing today and they are gonna do the job i think. possibly spun a bearing and thats why its holding good oil pressure still. there very reasonable on price so let the professionals do it

dont know yet mate. when i drove it if felt similar but i didnt realise boost has been turned down to 1.1 bar beacause of engine noise. and it was mapped on premium fuel apparently. its gona be live mapped at hopefully 1.8 bar on v power as long as the engine is in good health. engine seems in very good condition apart from bottom end noise. its running new splitfire coil packs so spark shouldnt be an issue. but i dont know when 660cc injectors will max out ?

Nice motor mate - hope it all works out for you. Alot of car for the money!!!

I bought my R33 GTR 4 yrs ago after owning Cosworths for 6yrs previous - best thing I done, although I still love Cossies

I don't enjoy the fuel bills though I must say! lol

well the car is sat robs yard but hes busy with totb event cars so will be end of july after event before he can strip it and see the damage

have been tod the crank oil pump drive is crap on these so prob gonna have new late style crank, new n1 oil pump and wiseco pistons to safely run more boost.
standard rods are good for 800 hp, uprated headgasket and should piss 600 bhp reliably.

still a good price mate

there not as expensive as people make out for parts. i can get a brand new genuine crank delivered from japan for Ł675

sounds like its got all the right bits for 500+ bhp, cheap power.

i had it on good authority my new car was a1 before the rattle started so couldnt pass up a local known big power car

well just got back from robs. crank is knackered
they were shocked how bad it is considering how quiet the noise was.
done 1 rod at least.
but it has a jun oil pump just needs checking to make sure it isnt fubared ?
jun pumps are well dear if its ok then gonna have an 800 hp capable bottom end fully forged
if its knackered gonna just run standard pistons again around 550.

fingers crossed the pump is ok

was still holding about 2 bar hot idle so im hopeful pump will be ok, but pressure didnt increase much with revs but that may of been as it was pissing the oil out from the sides of the shells.

jun pump is good, robs well happy to run it its as new

having wiseco pistons bored out to make it 2.7 litre

brand new late style crank

trust sump extension and baffle plate

uprated big end / mains bolts

metal headgasket similar to yb wrc one

acl race bearings

bottom end should be good for up to 800 hp

its gonna be took to the limit of the fuel pump then backed off a bit and il do some miles in it and see what i think. should be 535 bhp + as its already made that power on the fuel pump/injectors.

i cant wait
