we dont actually own our cars do we...
the big clue is on the logbook...
it says KEEPER....not OWNER...
from a dictionary...
keeper
• noun 1 a person who manages or looks after something or someone. 2 a goalkeeper or wicketkeeper. 3 an object which protects or secures another. 4 a bar of soft iron placed across the poles of a horseshoe magnet to maintain its strength.
owner
• noun a person who owns something.
— DERIVATIVES ownership noun.
bet this is how the dvla etc etc can crush your car etc.....
why we have to pay road tax etc etc etc....

Course you own it, when you hand the money over to whoever you are buying it from and they give you a receipt. You are then the legal owner of the car, the logbook just proves who is responsible for it at the time.
When you claim an abandoned car for example by applying for the logbook, although you can become the keeper, you don't legally own a car, and it is theft!

it says the keeper is not nessesarily the legal owner on the v5 for company cars etc. its not so the dvla or anyone else can take it. that would be silly.

afaik you own your car but you never own the registration number personal or not and the v5 is a registration document for a reg number not a car which states what car the number is assigned to.
