Default 2wd cam bearing question

I've stripped my head down today to replace the the tappets, when i took the cams out the the bearings are loose on the end! should these be a tight fit?
thanks.

They certainly should not be loose, shouldn't be able to feel any play once on the cam, between cam and bearing.
