The UK ones are 321 bhp as standard! Nice cars if a little thirsty but thats to be expected. I almost bought a standard UK TT before i bought the cossie. That thing would eat my 300 bhp escos for breakfast.

I had Jap import Twin Turbo aerotop Supra soon after the first fast and furious came out,, they are 280bhp (jap import ones)as standard, mine was around the 400BHP mark with BPU, FMIC,HKS Mushroom filter, boost controller, decat and HKS exhaust.
Twas an auto and managed a best 1/4 mile at the Pod of 12.8 @ 113mph and the most i had it up to was 176mph (snooper gps) on a private test track
Once its rolling it was really quick, the autos are the best ones to have appartently(sp) but they are heavy old beasts at just over a ton and half.
Good cars though.

this is a stage 1 supra with just exhaust, fuel pump and 1.15 bar boost on standard turbos :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67fm-nNubEY
seems to go very well, 400 bhp heavier than a saph but still quicker than a stage 3 saph.

Anyone remember the old Revs mag from years back?
They organized an Impreza vs Cosworth shootout where the Cosworths got pasted
Strangely ISTR the modded Fords got their own back on the modded Supras on the day though......I dare say Supra tuning has come a long way since..
Autocar road test

Supras are awesome top speed monsters when tuned too
They go into a strange 'bubble' at around 150mph where it all goes quiet and a little surreal

My mates dads got one, 770hp on standard internals!!! Runs 9s at the pod without nitrous. Running gas this season though. Reckons he's got over 200mph on the m1 but i havnt seen this!
I think there stunning to look at and possibly the fastest car for the money???? Tuned that is.

Raced my mates (400hp), in my capri (360hp) and i wasnt a lot faster, and im running double the boost! Top end I'd get hammered tho, doesnt matter how much power you have if you have the aerodynamics of a brick

I've seen kits on american sites which for about 4k UK you get everything you need to bolt on to get 1000bhp out of one.
Dont fancy the engine internals lasting long however

surprisingly quick.
had one with some nice mods, probably 330 bhp, was much quicker than you'd expect from that power - even as an auto felt quciker straight line than the type 25 impreza i had at the same time ( 350/350).

UK 321 bhp, import 280 ish. The UK TT's are of much better spec than the imports, 40bhp more, bigger better brakes and a few extra gadgets like the electric adjustable front splitter.
Auto's are seen as the better cars. They can handle much more power for one. A bit quicker too. Id have an auto over a manual any day.

No offence, as I dont have a supra, but I have a close mate that deals in Jap imports (poss different to UK ones though?) and he says they are shite for power as std engines - botom end is weak as - though from what I read I may be misinformed.....
I like them.
But to the OP: I raced a 100000000000000000000000000bhp supra in my mums 12v milk float and got whooped, wondered how you got on? What power was it etc
If it had the power to do a 9 sec, then it will beat your cossie, by MILES. if it was std, then it probably wont, seeing as you have 450bhp ish and are fascinated by trap times. or racing.

I may be mistaken but I think there 3 different factory engine specs the UK one being the best I remember reading an article years back saying they where developed with the intention of running 500+ bhp with no internal mods just bigger turbo's and injectors.
I drove a Uk 6 speed one a few years back with just a HKS exhaust and that was well fast 0 to 60 is about 5.4secs on standard car I think.

Is your whole life one big race? Seems every day theres another post about who or what you've raced, how fast you've timed yourself sprinting to 150mph or a video of your speedo etc.
Do you run a little database of how quick you are compared to each and every model of car?

Supra was my dream car (together with the cossie) but too damn expensive to owned at that time, insane 2JZ twin turbo engine and yes it can go to 700bhp with standard cams, crank and pistons (and rods if it is not reved to the redline all the time) but only if it is tuned right. This engine in the region of 500bhp with completely stock internals is bulletproof. Imagine that stock crankshaft when it is balanced can take 1600bhp with no problem and as for all the mechanicals / drivetrain well it is a toyota and that says it all...

uses the same Getrag manual 6 speed as a Skyline R34 GTR

I know somone with a 630bhp one. On std internals, just big single turbo, uprated management, intercooler and fuel supply. Has loads of trick bits like topsecret carbon fibre front and rear splitters, massive wheels, digi dash etc. When he gave it some it up the rd it sounded mental and properly shifted. Think he had done an 11 sec qtr spinning all the way up the strip. Fitted wider wheels with r888's now, so should do a 10 easily next time

If i remember right, Hulk Hogans boy stuffed one into a palm tree at some silly speed only days after passing his test. Think it had upwards of 700bhp.
But yes to the OP, they're damn quick when tickled abit.

If you get one just go 6speed single, dont mess around with the twin turbo as you will just end up craving more power and to go single costs Ł8k+ you can do it cheaper but will be ropey and if you do it you may aswell do it right once. Jamie P over on supra net has spent Ł20k+ on his, is a nice example though.

fuck me! seem to be impressive cars when tuned, and take big power, Ive read they are one of the most over engineered engines made, more so than YBs or RB26s.
