Default Koni - wrong kits

Just recieved my Koni Sports Suspension Kit for my MK 4 RS Turbo, which has some Vougtland Springs included, however looking into the spec of the springs on the Vougtland brocure it says that they are not suitable for the Escort RS Tubo

Its definatly the right kit for the Escort Rs Turbo MK4 as I have the correct shockers, and double checked with Larkspeed where I bought them.

Called The distrubitor for Koni and They said they were the right springs.

Decided to send an Email direct to Vougtland and they have replied

there was a model break in the september of 1990.
the springs in the set 953025 are for a Ford Escort, typ GAA, ALD, ALF, GAF, AFD, AFF but the RS is excluded. MD 9.80 > 9.90
The springs should fit bit maybe you have too much lowering

Wont be fitting these for a while and was worried that I wouldnt be able to get my money back if they dont fit

Just wondered if anybody has fitted one of these kits lately or some Vougtland -35 mill springs

AFAIK, Koni have used the Vougtland springs for years. I even think it's what my original ones came with 10 years ago.

Anyway, generally, Mk4 springs will fit the ERST, but because the RST was lower than the Mk4 as standard, the quoted amount of lowering usually amounts to more than you actually get. So, a set of Mk4 springs quoted as 40mm lowering, will probably lower an RST by around 25mm. Of course you must take into account wear and sag of springs over the years, but thats roughly it.

I'd say you'll be fine.
