Default While cleaning out my new Golf, I found this ...

It was in the first aid compartment thing in the boot ..

What is it, can I make any use of it, or is it an ebay or over the fence jobbie?

Few other pics after a quick swill ... I dont think this car has ever seen a splash of mcguires, the paint work although clean is very "rough", I remember my escort having that "glass" feel. So, 3 part McGuires it is later!

Debadged arse end, looks a lot better than the stupid randon gt tdi in whatever colours whoever is putting them on decides to choose..

If you look at this next pic, it seems as though there is something missing from the right hand side of the bumper, is this so, or is this how they come?

Coilovers needed, and will be sorted promptly!

In the next pic, can anyone tell me where the sensor is for the 2 stage fan circuit. Im guessing its 2 seperate sensors, only I want to test the fans are working OK. I left the car run up to 89 degrees, and they hadnt kicked in, but then looked in Haynes and they dont kick in till 91 and 99 degrees respectively! Doh! Any way of lowering these?

Cheers folks!

looks like an ebay jobbie if these prices are anything to go by!

http://www.raidhp.de/index.asp?sprache=englisch

sorry, the link didn't copy across properly. type in chip tuning box to the search bar on that website.

The car looks smart now though

Will do Mark, that box thing is what I called you about yesterday.

So can it be used, or tested? Is it a case of plugging it in?

Oh, I think Ive sorted the start problem, I found a 30A fuse blown by the battery (one of 3) and I took the battery terminals off and wirebrushed them down and gave em a good clean, wd40'd the lot, and it seems to start straight away now. Time will tell.

No They dont. My Gti Turbo has all the grills in place.

I think you should get some Black Vw bagdes instead of the silver ones as they would go well with the Rs4 wheels.

Bollocks, they aren't all that. My dad has a Mk4 GTI TDI like this, the seating position isn't great, the interior isn't particularly nice (bland), brakes are over servo'd, power steering is too light. I'm far from impressed. Same on the older Mk3 VR6 I drove.

VW's are sterile, only decent thing I like is the noise of the VR6 lumps.

Dunno mate? Only had the car 2 days so not my doing!

taken from another site I posted on:

and that tuning box is a good one, the cheap ones only have 2 pins on the plug and only go onto the temp sender and fool the ecu into thinking the fuel is too hot so it just injects more, but the one you have connects to the Injecton Pump(you will need some sort of loom to connect to it) and it alters the fuel injection timing and injection duration accross the range to get more power and less smoke than a cheapo resistor one. they are almost as good as a remap, the only thing they don't do is increase boost but the boost will be incresed as more fuel is added, it's just the ecu doesn;t know about it. if you were to put a 3 bar MAP sensor in place it would give you another 4-5psi of boost to match the extra fuel the tuning box will give you. the MAP sensor is in the upper intercooler pipe in the picture you put up
So does anyone know where I might be able to get a loom from, or should I just contact raidhp direct tomorrow.

I wonder if the loom has been fitted to the car already and just a case of plugging the box in? Any ideas where it might be?

It's a boot blend.

I REALLY like that! Looks proper nice mate, a little drop and thats perfect.

CSM - Whats your name btw mate? I seem to chat to you loads but i just remembered i don't know your name!

As you said, you don't realise how good the build quality is on VAG cars until you have had one, when i tell people my car has done 90,000 miles, there properly shocked when they get in it.

Looks nice matey.
If going for cheap coilovers budget for a anti roll bar as you cannot go lower than 30mm else the driveshafts rub the standard one.
Ignore me if you already knew bud

Cheers Gav, thought it was between 40-45mm that the problem arose?

The paint on the car felt PROPER shocking, dont think its been looked after, so just done the 3 stage mcguires (just finished ) and its looking pretty tidy now

You may get away with it bud, obviously you can raise it should the problem occur but i have always heard 30-35mm.

As for the Megs 3 stage, stage 1 and 2 is ok but get a better wax on the car to seal in your hard work as the stage 3 (wax) is very poor on durability and will only last a couple of days at most.
For a cheap very long lasting wax i would recomend Collinite 476 or for slightly more the 915 which gives a better finish on dark colours in my experiance

The lowering issue kicks in at 45mm apparantly but you can get ajustable links !!

I lowered my previous bora 40mm all round with a JOM kit and it was perfect with no issues.

Looks a nice golf fella, as mentioned get it lowered and keep it clean

SHORTY- my names Colin or known as Millsy (last name Mills) to others lol, old username on here for years was millsyscossie but had it changed seen as though i dont own a cossie anymore and CSM is just my initials , Infact i think it was you who i bought a stage 3 chip from for my saph 4x4 years ago to replace my duff chip ?? maybe im wrong though lol

My passat has done 117k and it drives mint, gearbox is still tight and pulls like a train (not a patch on my previous bora 130 though )
